Friends, Family Remember Woman Killed In Walmart Parking Lot
LAWRENCE COUNTY (KDKA) -- Mariah Anderson, 22, was eulogized Friday night by friends, relatives and co-workers outside the Walmart store in Union Township, Lawrence County.
Anderson, a mother of three small children, was getting off work last Sunday night, when police said she was shot and killed by her estranged boyfriend, Carlos Harper, in the Walmart parking lot.
The victim's family said that Anderson had filed a Protection From Abuse order against Harper just days earlier because he had been stalking her.
Co-worker and friend Lorraine Werhnyak told KDKA-TV News Friday that she had warned Anderson about Carlos in the past, but her response was, "What could I do? I love him, and he's the father of my three children."
State Police said Harper died of a self inflicted gunshot wound in New Brighton, Beaver County, last Monday.
