Franco Harris, Meadows Casino Sever Ties
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Meadows Casino and Franco Harris are putting their business partnership on hold for the time being.
Harris will not be doing any more endorsements after comments he made after Penn State fired head coach Joe Paterno.
"But for you to connect him with this and put blame on him really disturbs me and like I said, he did his job, people higher than him, you know, if it went all the way up to the president that's stuff that they should do, that they should take care of," Harris said on Sunday.
Sources told KDKA that Meadows operators are upset over those comments and have worked out a deal for the two sides to sever ties.
In a statement released Tuesday, the casino said:
"In light of the recent developments with Franco Harris regarding Joe Paterno's dismissal, Franco and The Meadows have mutually decided to put their business relationship on hold at this time, while these matters are looked into further."
Harris and Rocky Bleier had recently appeared in a series of casino commercials together.
