FOX and NFL Network Analyst Brian Billick Chats With The Fan Morning Show
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- FOX Sports & NFL Network analyst, and former Super Bowl champion coach, Brian Billick joined The Fan Morning Show Thursday to give his take on the Steelers entering Week 13 and to offer his insight on the league at large.
He says that the Steelers' chances against the Ravens on Sunday will be largely dependent on their ground game.
"The thing that struck me when I was in to do their game against the Washington Redskins, was the confidence of this Steelers team, especially in their running game," Billick said. "If you can get your running game cranked up... then yeah, that's going to be the key to going in and beating [the Ravens] in Baltimore."
He said that Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been undeniably impressive at M & T Bank Stadium.
"At home, he's a different quarterback right now," Billick said. "He's very confident."
He acknowledged that his champion 2000 Ravens benefited from playing in a period when quarterback play across the league was at a low point, but said that even though things are different now, defense may make a bigger difference.
"We're so deep at the quarterback position right now -- and it is a quarterback-driven league," Billick said. "[But] this year, I think defenses will have more of an overall effect on the playoff picture."
He also broke down the Steelers' path to the playoffs, saying that it will take a 10-6 mark to make the postseason.
