Former Steeler Joey Porter Arrested In California
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Former Pittsburgh Steeler Joey Porter is reportedly out of jail after being arrested over the weekend in California.
According to a newspaper in Bakersfield, Calif., Porter was arrested on a warrant for allegedly writing a bad check in Nevada.
The Bakersfield Californian reports that Porter was taken into custody on Friday night during a traffic stop.
An official at the Kern County Jail reports that Porter was released today on bail.
Porter was the Steelers' third-round draft pick in 1999. In his 13-year career, he spent eight seasons in Pittsburgh.
Porter spent time playing three seasons in Miami and two in Arizona before retiring.
He totaled 667 tackles, 98 sacks, 26 forced fumbles, 12 interceptions and one defensive touchdown for his career.
