Former Steeler Alan Faneca Looking Forward To Retirement

PITTSBURGH (Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN) -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers Guard Alan Faneca joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about his recent retirement and looked back on his time in the NFL.

Faneca said the decision to walk away from the game was very tough for him and added that it's tough to picture not playing football anymore after playing it for so many years even before he made it into the NFL.

When it comes to what he'll be doing with his time now, Faneca said he's really looking forward to golfing, fishing, hunting and just spending time with his family.

Alan finished his career playing for three different teams, but said he will always be known as a Steeler and wants it that way.  Given how great Alan was during his time with the Steelers, we asked him to try to identify what one moment would be the signature moment of his time with the Steelers, and he said it was right after his Super Bowl victory with the Steelers when he finally got his hands on the Lombardi Trophy.

Faneca also talked about all the support he received from Steeler fans during his time in Pittsburgh and said those fans are the best around and that only made it that much tougher for him when he had to leave but appreciated everything that was done for him while here.

We wrapped things up with Faneca asking him for his thoughts on being a future Hall of Famer.
