Former Pitt TE Dorin Dickerson Talks Pitt, Previews Lions-Steelers Game
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Former Pitt TE Dorin Dickerson has spent time with the Detroit Lions this season and he joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to preview the Steelers-Lions game at Heinz Field on Sunday at 1 p.m.
He said his release from the Lions was a numbers game and he actually expects to be resigned by the Lions in the next couple of weeks.
Dorin said it was a great experience to be around Lions WR Calvin Johnson. He says that he is one of the best if not the best wide receiver in the league but that doesn't go to his head. Dorin said he is a very humble guy.
He tells the guys a funny story about the first time he meant Johnson and thought he was only a head taller than him, then he realized he was in his bare feet.
"The Lions and Steelers both have a lot of talent," Dickerson said. "This will be a better game than people think."
Dickerson said Lions QB Matt Stafford is smart and the game comes to him so quickly.
He also spent time this year with the Buffalo Bills and QB EJ Manuel. He says last week is not a true indication of his talent. Dorin thinks he will be a great NFL QB, and last week was him just shaking the rust.
Dorin was also in attendance at the Pitt win last Saturday night over Notre Dame and he says it was a big win for his former alma mater. He tells the guys he likes the direction the program is heading in with Paul Chryst.
Dorin was a senior when current Pitt WR Devin Street was a freshman. He sees a guy that has the perfect size and ability to play in the NFL.
"He has come a long way," Dickerson said. "I am proud of him."
Dickerson also said that the sky is the limit for freshman WR Tyler Boyd. He said we may see him playing on Sunday's next season.
