Former Pirate Garrett Jones Says Goodbye To Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Even though he is not officially a Miami Marlin just yet, former Pirates' first baseman and outfielder Garrett Jones says, "it's really close."
Remembering his years in black and gold, Jones says, "I loved my time in Pittsburgh, especially last year."
The kind words and well wishes from Bucco fans made it hard to leave town, but it is also exciting to be moving on to a new spot in his career.
Jones admits that there was some nervousness and anxiousness along with the excitement of being a free agent.
Even though his one at bat at PNC Park during the playoffs ended with a strikeout on three pitches, Jones was overwhelmed with emotion at the cheers he received walking to the plate and he will never forget that feeling.
