Flyers Analyst Anticipating "Chippy" Play To Start On First Shift
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Former Flyer and current team analyst Chris Therien joined Starkey and Miller on Sports Radio 93-7 The FAN to help preview tomorrow's Penguins-Flyers matchup.
We opened things up asking Therien how long it will take for tomorrow's game to get chippy, and he said it won't take any longer than the first shift because the teams just don't like each other.
Therien was very outspoken last year about Sidney Crosby's play in the playoffs and said he was a joke and should get punched. When asked about those comments, Therien admitted he probably got caught up in the moment, but added that Crosby was playing dirty and certainly warranted some retaliation.
Being a former NHL defenseman, we got Therien's thoughts on what Kris Letang can bring to the table for the Pens both now and in the future as he continue to develop.
We wrapped things up with Therien talking about the Flyers ability to get Evgeni Malkin off his game, and how the Pens were out-coached last year in the playoffs.
