Flooding Leads To Road Closures
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Heavy rain Monday evening has left some roads flooded.
A flash flood watch has also been issued for Allegheny, Westmoreland, Butler and Beaver counties until 10 p.m.
Areal flood warnings for urban areas and small streams in Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties are also in effect until 8:45 p.m.
Below are the roads reported to be flooded:
-Allegheny River Boulevard is closed from Nadine to Washington Boulevard due to wires down and on fire in Penn Hills.
-The 1100-block of North Avenue in Pitcairn is flooded.
-Reportedly in Lincoln, fire officials are on the scene blocking off the 1000-block of Lovedale Road due to flooding.
-Lincoln Way in White Oak is also closed from Rankin Road to the Westmoreland County line.
-Route 48 is closed between North Versailles and McClintock Road because of downed trees and wires.
-It's reported that officials are requesting that Rankin Road at Lincoln Way in White Oak also be closed because of flooding.
-Perry Highway at West View Park in West View is flooded.
-Around 6 p.m. police started closing down Banksville Road from Crane Avenue to the Parkway West ramp.
-Route 51 southbound at Whited Street is also flooded. As well as from Bausman to Whited and at Overbrook Boulevard.
-Beechwood Boulevard under the Parkway East overpass is flooded.
-Hunt at Wedgewood in Fox Chapel is flooded.
-Freeport Road at Powers Run Road in O'Hara Township is flooded.
-In Ross Township, the traffic light is out at the Seibert and McKnight Road intersection. Officials urge drivers to treat it as a four-way stop.
