Flooding Closes Mon Wharf, 10th Street Bypass
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The water from the three rivers is expected to rise throughout the morning hours and that could prove to be a problem for both the morning and evening commutes.
The 10th Street Bypass is currently closed as water started to pour onto the roadway shortly before 5 a.m.
The Mon Wharf has also taken on water and is closed until the water starts to recede.
The National Weather Service is monitoring the water levels of the rivers around Pittsburgh. The Ohio River is expected to crest at 25.2 feet around 5 p.m. At6 a.m., it was at 22.62 feet.
At 25 feet, the Bath Tub area between Grant Street and the Fort Pitt Bridge will begin to flood.
