Fleury Named NHL's No. 2 Star Of Week
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A month ago, Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was one of the most criticized
athletes in town.
Fans of the Pens blamed him for the team's struggles; but today, those critics are pretty much silent.
Fleury's great play was recognized today by the league.
They've named him the NHL's No. 2 star of the week. Last week, Fleury went 3-0 with a 1.67 G.A. and a .944 save percentage.
Fleury is a large reason for the Pens current 12-game winning streak.
He's currently on an 11-game win streak and recorded a .945 save percentage during that stretch. The Pens have allowed two or fewer goals in 11 of the last 12 games.
The league's No. 1 star went to San Jose's Ryan Clowe while Rich Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets was voted the No. 3 star.
The Pens are next in action Tuesday night at Philadelphia.
