Fla. Man Arrested Following 135MPH Chase Through Pa. & W. Va.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Wednesday evening police chase involved a Florida man who led police on a two-state pursuit with speeds exceeding 135 miles per hour.
According to state police, they executed a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 27-year-old Theotis Kindell. All of the sudden, the Orlando, Fla. man floored it near Washington.
Thus began a truly high-speed chase that saw Kindell in his BMW 740I tear away from troopers. Accounts have Kindell blowing past cars and trucks all on a wet Interstate 70 at 135 miles per hour.
The pursuit parade approached the West Virginia border, where Kindell allegedly tried to ram the cars of two troopers.
A spike strip near the state line proved useless because Kindell drove around them on the shoulder.
However, it wasn't long after he roared into West Virginia that his run ran cold. Finally, he was stopped by police in Monongahela County.
Kindell is currently in West Virginia awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, where he faces 64 counts including fleeing and eluding police.
