Fireworks Convention, Construction To Delay Traffic In Butler Co.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are trying to prevent a Butler County fireworks display from causing traffic problems later this month.
Officials say fireworks displays will be set off during a fireworks convention at the Coopers Lake Campground in Worth Township Aug. 10 through 16.
Police say during that time, "it is imperative that vehicle traffic continue to progress through the area within the limits of the law while the operators of the vehicle remain undistracted by the displays."
They ask that motorists along Route 422 and Interstate 79 not stop or pull over to the side of the road to watch the fireworks.
Police will be extra vigilant in citing drivers who violate traffic laws during this time.
Because of construction around the intersection of the two roadways and the fireworks convention, police also say to expect heavy traffic delays.
