Fire Nearly Destroys New Home In Beaver County
BEAVER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- It could've been a lot worse.
Firefighters made quick work of a blaze that nearly destroyed a family's new home.
The fire broke out inside a trailer belonging to a construction crew that was doing work on the Beaver Township home.
Officials say the owners are in the process of moving in, and were having some work done to the floors.
"Contractors said they could smell smoke, came outside to check on it, noticed the trailer was on fire and grabbed a hose, tried to do the best they could," said Assistant Chief Dave Meers, of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters put out the fire before it did serious damage to the home.
They're still not sure what started it.
