Flooding Forces Road Closures In Uniontown, Early Dismissals In Greene County

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- Lightning flashed across the night sky Tuesday as yet another storm rolled through parts of Washington and Allegheny Counties.
Rain from earlier in the day caused flooded streets in Uniontown, Fayette County.
In Uniontown, North Beeson Boulevard near the Food Bank and the Community Action Agency was underwater.

In Greene County, it rained so hard four school districts dismissed students early, so they could get home before roads there flooded.
"Oh yeah, they got out early because a lot of these kids live on backroads, and there's nowhere for the water to go," said Jake Hickle from Carmichaels.
He says Route 218 south of Waynesburg was flooded in several spots, some a few feet deep.
Some backyards were underwater, and Barb Simpson's house was kind of like an island earlier in the day.
KDKA-TV's David Highfield arrived as she was pumping ankle-deep water out of her basement.
"It came up really quick, really fast," said Simpson.
In Blacksville on the West Virginia border, Dunkard Creek was moving fast with more rain expected.
"It rained so hard," said Hickle. "It's unbelievable how hard it rained here today."
