Fayette County Murder Suspect Turns In Self Overnight
UNIONTOWN (KDKA)- Terry Walker walked into the state police barracks in Uniontown shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
Walker was wanted in the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend, 36-year-old Mya Ann Grady. Grady's body was found inside a car off of Route 40 in Somerset Township. She was shot in the head as she traveled up Route 40 for her job at Lady Luck Casino.
An arrest warrant was issued for Walker earlier this week. He walked into the state police barracks with his attorney Thomas Shaffer.
"I want to state my client is not here to surrender," said Shaffer. "My client is here to face a charges voluntarily. He obviously has a different version than the police."
Police say Walker and the victim were involved in a relationship for about seven years. Grady recently tried to end the relationship. They believe he followed her up Route 40 and shot her twice while she was driving.
Her car drifted into a guardrail near Lick Hollow Road. A snowplow driver discovered the body.
"I would state it's quite troubling that police detained him without legal counsel for 14 hours," said Shaffer. "Starting approximately at five o'clock in the afternoon and kept him awake all night until 11 o'clock the next morning and then let him go."
Walker is currently at the Fayette Couny Jail without bond. He's been charged with criminal homicide.
Family member's say services for Grady will be held tomorrow at Kezmarsky Funeral Home in Uniontown.
