Fayette Co. Man Robbed For 2nd Time In Recent Weeks
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) - A man bitten during a robbery last week has been robbed again and he told police the same woman may be involved in both cases.
It's a case that police said they are working on, but they still need the public's help.
Last week, 76-year-old Joseph Cope showed KDKA-TV the bite marks he claimed he suffered when he was robbed of his wallet.
It happened when a woman tried to flag him down as he drove to Dusty's Bar in Uniontown, but by the time he got there, the woman confronted him, fought him, bit him and took his wallet.
As he was sleeping the other night, two people broke into his home and robbed him of hundreds of dollars.
This time, he sustained injuries to his mouth hands and arms.
"The victim from the first robbery where he was bit, was the victim of a home invasion apparently by the same female along with an accomplice who broke into his house. About [3:45 a.m.], he awoke with them over his bed, and when he tried to get out of bed, he was assaulted at that time," Uniontown Police Capt. David Rutter said.
Cope described one of the women as being white in her early 20s with dark hair.
Police said they have some leads, but they still need your help.
