Woman & Teen Killed, Another Boy Injured In Fayette Co. Crash
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A second victim has now died following a one-vehicle rollover crash on Friday afternoon in Fayette County.
The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 2500-block of Springfield Pike, Route 711, in Springfield Township. A woman and teen boy were killed. Another teenage boy was injured.
An SUV crashed into and toppled a telephone pole, and then flipped onto its side.
Witnesses say the woman who was driving swerved and tried to over-correct before hitting an embankment, and then slammed into the utility pole.
"With her rolling over and they hit the pole, the pole shearing off - two people were ejected from the vehicle," said Chief Mark Bigam, of the Normalville Fire Department.

Merle Schomer, who is a nurse, ran to help.
The woman was one of the two ejected from the car. Schomer said she was unresponsive. Authorities say she died at the scene.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the her as 37-year-old Suzanne Marie Williams. She died of blunt force trauma.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the other victim as 16-year-old Skylar Williams of Monesses. He also died of blunt force trauma.
The older of the teenaged boys was also outside of the car.
"The young boy was unresponsive, but he had good vitals when I assessed him," said Schomer. "But he had some lung injury, you could tell."
Schomer says the youngest teen was the one trapped inside. He was conscious and talking.
Firefighters had to have the power company shut off electricity before they could rescue him because the lines were still active. First responders did what they could to comfort the little boy.
"There was a young firefighter; he came first, and he was able to hold his hand and comfort him," said Schomer.
The boys were flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital for treatment. There's no word on the condition of the other teenage boy.
