One said: "There is no better place for first-time visitors to become truly captivated by the city we're lucky enough to call home than by stepping onto the overlooks on Mt. Washington. The view lets visitors appreciate the skyline – from the Gothic-inspired glass spires of PPG Place to the convergence of the Three Rivers. No matter how many times you see it, it never gets old." In 2003, USA Today's Weekend magazine named the nighttime view "the second most beautiful view in America."

Walk through historic Pittsburgh in the Strip District and Heinz History Center! A staff member at KDKA says: "After a trip to the observation decks on Mt. Washington, we love taking people from out of town to the Heinz History Center. It's a great way to wind up an afternoon after wandering through the Strip District. It's uniquely Pittsburgh, and the Sports Museum shows why Pittsburgh is the best sports town in America!" Another staffer said it'll make any visitor "wish they had something like that where they live!"

One KDKA staffer called the Roberto Clemente Museum at the historic Engine House 25 in Lawrenceville an "incredible" place to take visitors to Pittsburgh. "Most people haven't even heard of it, but it's impressive enough that several New York Yankees visited in uniform between batting practice and the game just to catch a glimpse!" The museum claims to feature "the world's largest exhibited collection of baseball artifacts, works of art, literature, photographs, memorabilia" and more "dedicated to preserving the legacy of 'The Great One.'"

You get the most beautiful view of the city… on a warm night with a summer sunset – heaven!" Another loved how affordable the games are: "great food and fun to watch… even if the Pirates lose!"
South Side

Young, hip, eclectic… going to the South Side is just a Pittsburgh thing to do! Several KDKA staffers recommend taking visitors to this neighborhood and stopping at the "variety of shops, restaurants and bars" along East Carson Street. Other staffers recommended restaurants including Fatheads for their great "beer selection" and The Library for their great Happy Hour and movie-like atmosphere. "The walls are lined with bookshelves and the menu is situated in the front covers of some of your favorite classics. The books tend to spark interesting conversation, too!"

One of the most distinct ways to show off Pittsburgh is with a ride on The Incline! KDKA staffers say it is "a Pittsburgh-only experience" and "a ride up and down the incline always impresses people!" According to their website: "the Duquesne Incline was rescued and restored by a group of local residents in 1963 and still delights residents and visitors with its original, elegant, wooden cable cars."
