Fatal Stabbing Outside Of Giant Eagle
NORTH SIDE (KDKA)- Police are looking for the person who stabbed a man outside of a local Giant Eagle.
Delrio Ivy was found murdered right next to the Giant Eagle on the North Side early this morning and while police have recovered the weapon they say was used to kill him, they have yet to find the person who did it.
Candy Branch knew Ivy.
"I just seen him yesterday on east Ohio. Yeah I just seen him yesterday," she said. "Yeah we talked and everything but I wasn't expecting this."
Police say the 58-year-old from the Manchester section of the North Side was stabbed multiple times in his neck and abdomen after getting into an argument with another person on Cedar Avenue right next to the grocery store.
Surveillance cameras on the building recorded what happened but there was no audio and because it was 12:30 a.m., there was very little light.
Sonya Toler, Pittsburgh Police Spokesperson said, "There is some video from Giant Eagle that we were able to view it's not very clear it didn't give us much information."
After Ivy was stabbed, the person responsible took off leaving the murder weapon, which was a multi-tool, at the scene.
Ivy later died at Allegheny General Hospital.
"He was a really good-hearted person, you know." Curtis Tucker said. "And I'm quite sure it was unexpected for him to be stabbed like that."
Police brought a man in for questioning but determined that he is not connected to the crime.
