Fans Prepping For Busy Sports Weekend On The North Shore
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- As packed as the North Shore was Friday night for the Pirates game, daylight will undoubtedly bring even more cars to the lots.
Saturday at 8:30 a.m. is when Pitt Panther fans can get first dibs.
Tiquan Holmes is what you could call a Pitt-Pirate superfan.
He's going to see the Buccos play Friday, and instead of battling what's slated to be grueling traffic and parking he's staying put.
"I am sleeping over," said Holmes. "I'm going to the Pirates game. I have my car here, I'm just going straight to tailgating, and then go to the Pitt game."
Sharon Price is going home to Allison Park after the game.
But she too will be back in the morning for the Pitt game, but isn't excited about trying to find an alternate route into town with PennDOT's shutdown of Route 28 southbound at the 40th Street Bridge.
Pedicab driver Eric Mandel isn't concerned about traffic or parking, but instead a 14-hour work day.
He says he will pick up riders from all across the city.
"We usually start at the casino or the ballpark and sometimes we end up downtown or in the Strip District or even South Side," said Mandel.
