Fans Gear Up For Super Bowl At NFL Experience
DALLAS, Texas (KDKA) - Deep in the heart of Texas, more specifically in Dallas, it was all about visiting the NFL Experience this weekend for football fans.
With one week until the big game, there were thousands taking in the exhibit on Sunday, including Steelers fans in mass.
"We grew up in the South Hills. I grew up in Baldwin and West Mifflin, and Terri grew up in South Park," said Westlake, Texas resident Scott Miller about where he and his wife hail from. "We love Big Ben, Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu and Heath Miller."
The Millers were actually a bit of an exception though from the rest of the crowd of black and gold fans.
While yes, there were a lot of Steelers fans, many have never spent one day near the Monongahela, Ohio or Allegheny rivers.
So, how does one become a Steelers fan without ever being in Pittsburgh?
"Crazy story; my brother likes the Cowboys, I didn't like my brother growing up, and so I was the Steelers cause that was the two teams that kept fighting back and forth," said Chase Thoung, of Dallas.
Meanwhile, any time you get Steelers fans together, especially for big games, they talk about how great the Steelers are.
Success breeds that kind of talk; but while they don't fear the Cheeseheads, they certainly - when it comes to this go round - respect them.
"It's going to be tough," added Thoung. "I felt good about them against the Cardinals, but against the Packers, I'm not so sure. It's going to be a tough one."
