Family Of Peters Twp. Crash Victim Holds Vigil

PETERS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The family of a young woman who died in a car crash gathered on what would have been her 20th birthday to demand that charges be filed in the case.

Adair Porter was sitting in the passenger seat of a car at a traffic light in Peters Township in July 2010.

Police say that vehicle was rear-ended by an SUV driven by 54-year-old Thomas McNary, causing a chain-reaction crash.

Peters Township police said it appeared that McNary suffered a diabetic shock, causing the crash.

Washington County District Attorney Stephen Toprani tells KDKA that the investigation into the crash is still active and that no decision has been made about whether charges will be filed.

He says there have been search warrants for both phone and medical records and that he expects to bring the investigation to a close very soon.

KDKA reached McNary by phone Wednesday night. He had no comment.
