Family Makes Plea For Help Finding Missing Lower Burrell Woman
LOWER BURRELL (KDKA) -- A plea for help from the family of an 86-year-old woman with Alzheimer's who's been missing since Friday.
The granddaughter of Sheila Creevey, of Lower Burrell, is asking people to be on the lookout. She's not sure if her grandmother, who lives alone, walked away from her home on Arizona Drive or if someone may have given her a lift.
"If you gave her a ride and dropped her off, that's fine. But call and let us know that you did, so we know where she's at," said Colleen Marriott, Creevey's granddaughter.
Police stationed themselves in front of Creevey's home Monday night. Dogs tried to track where the elderly woman may have gone.
Volunteers passed out hundreds of fliers with Creevey's picture. They asked people to check their garages, sheds and even bushes.
"My dad knows her. She used to shop in a store he owned," said Tami Kelly, who's never actually met Creevey. She just wants to help. "That's what you do in Lower Burrell."
Pittsburgh Mills mall and the area around it was searched over the weekend after someone thought they spotted Creevey there.
"She has dementia and this new medication she's on, this is not her," said Marriott. "It's been a living hell. I can't eat. I just want her back. I want her to come home."
The search was called off Monday night when it got dark.
