Evgeni Malkin Practices, Announces He's Out Through At Least Saturday
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Penguins have found themselves in injury trouble late in the season as that will continue Saturday in Columbus.
Evgeni Malkin announced after practice that he will not play against the Blue Jackets.
Malkin missed Wednesday night's game with an unspecified injury. The Penguins lost at home, 4-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Malkin said that he could return to the lineup on Sunday. The Penguins have a rematch with the Flyers in Philly. "I rushed (previous injury). Came back a little too early and didn't feel good after back-to-back games," Malkin said today at practice.
The Penguins' Center missed 6 games in March with an unspecified lower-body injury. He returned to the lineup last weekend and posted 2 assists in 2 games.
Christian Erhoff will miss the full slate of games this weekend. Kris Letang has yet to work out after his concussion on Saturday.
