Errey: Three Goals The Magic Number
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Penguins and Bruins, arguably the Eastern Conference's two best teams, will face off in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Saturday night.
The Bruins enter the series with a reputation of a defense-first style, but Bob Errey told Starkey, Miller and Mueller that the Bruins can put the puck in the net.
"I think the Bruins do have enough offense to get it going if they desire," Errey said.
Errey added that three goals is the magic number.
"You score three goals you're going to win your share of games, and Tuukka Rask has got the ability to hold the Pens to two or under," he said.
There has been a lot of discussion in the national media regarding the very long break for both teams. Errey said that the players aren't used to having such a long break.
"It's playing every night or every second night," Errey said. "You're so accustomed to doing the same things. I think it is tough for the players."
