Errey: Game 2 Is Vital
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--The Penguins lost Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals 3-0 to the Boston Bruins. To talk about that, and preview Game 2, the Fan Morning Show was joined by ROOT Sports Color Analyst Bob Errey on Monday.
"I thought the Pens had some great opportunities," Errey said of the Penguins not scoring when given the chance. He gives credit to Tuukka Rask, but thinks the Penguins will not miss their chances very often.
Tomas Vokoun lost only his second game of the post season as well.
"I don't think you can really fault him," Bob said, reaffirming that Vokoun should start in goal for Game 2.
Faceoffs were a key issue for the Penguins as they lost two-thirds of the draws. Bob thinks that the Penguins have to get more help from their wingers on the draws. It is not just on the center to win the battle.
Bob see differences in the Matt Cooke hit on Adam McQuaid, and the Brad Marchand hit on James Neal. As for the Cooke hit, Bob said, "I thought he could have let up a little bit." But, Bob thinks both should have been two-minute penalties.
