Ed Bouchette: 'You'd Think It Was Babe Ruth's Home Run Record'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – 93-7 The Fan Steelers insider and Post-Gazette reporter Ed Bouchette joined "The Fan Morning Show" Monday to break down the Steelers' 17-9 win over the Jaguars.
Many eyebrows were raised by the Steelers' decision to have Ben Roethlisberger throw a screen pass to Antonio Brown with the game all but over late in the fourth quarter to extend Brown's streak of games with at least five catches and 50 yards. The streak now stands at 21 consecutive games.
Bouchette, like many others, did not like the decision.
"You'd think it was Babe Ruth's home run record they were after," Bouchette said. "It's a manufactured thing, anyway. Five catches for, what is it, 50 yards? Come on. If you're going for Hines Ward's receiving record or something like that, okay, I understand. A 17-9 game, you're trying to force a pass when an interception could lead to a tying score? I don't like it."
Bouchette joins "The Fan Morning Show" on mornings after Steelers games at 8 a.m.
