Ed Bouchette Evaluates Byron Leftwich, Steelers
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Every Monday morning, 93.7 The Fan Steelers Insider, and Post-Gazette Beat Writer, Ed Bouchette joins the Fan Morning Show to analyze Sunday's Game.
The Steelers lost a tight defensive battle against the Ravens in which Byron Leftwich started with a great touchdown drive, but provided very little offense the rest of the game. Byron appeared to be injured on a 31-yard touchdown run, and accumulated injuries as the game went on.
Ed respected the fact that Byron wanted to compete, but it hurt the team because he couldn't make the throws.
The Steelers also went out of their way to deny that Byron was injured, after the game. Ed wondered why Charlie Batch wasn't used, and calls into question why the Steelers haven't signed a quarterback to the practice squad.
The Steelers had some success on the ground with Jonathan Dwyer. But, Ed can't find reason in their substitutions. Anytime a back had success, he would be taken out of the game.
Ed breaks down the playoff picture for the AFC North and what Sunday night's loss means to the Steelers hopes of winning the division.
