Ed Bouchette Breaks Down Win Over Eagles
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ed Bouchette joined The Fan Morning Show to discuss the Steelers' 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday at Heinz Field.
Ed says the Steelers came out running and it was sparked by the return of Rashard Mendenhall who has been out since his knee injury in Cleveland in the final game of the 2011 season.
"He looked as good as he has ever looked," Bouchette said of Mendenhall's performance. He rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
It was not all good news as the Steelers suffered injuries to two key members on defense. Troy Polamalu tweaked his calf and LaMarr Woodley tweaked his hamstring.
Ed says it's too early to know about whether or not the injuries are serious, but he said the injuries smell and right now the smell is not very good.
Now, the Steelers travel to Tennessee on Thursday night. It would seem that might be a favorable match up for the Steelers but Ed points out that this team has lost somewhat easy games on the road.
"There is no gimmies for this team no matter who they play," Bouchette said.
