Drivetime With Vinnie Richichi-Road Test: 2013 Lexus GS450h Hybrid
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) --- There are a lot of people who want to drive a luxury car and even more that want to save the planet.
Doing both is getting easier all of the time with cars like the Lexus GS450h.
Large and comfortable the GS which is based on Lexus' sporty GS350 sedans, tips the scales at a combined 31 mpg while delivering quick acceleration, a stately ride and un-hybridlike handling.
Add to that a big bag of hi-tech goodies including the best feeling controller/mouse in any in car information system and a spectacular Mark Levinson sound system and the Lexus comes out pretty high up on the luxury hybrid heap.
Now all of that is pretty good except that some GS buyers might be looking for something a bit more sporty. If they are they may be a bit disappointed because the 450h feels a lot more suit than sports jacket.
Don't let that stop you though as the GS450h still has enough sporty in it to keep it interesting while still behaving like a luxury sedan. In many ways the best of both worlds and if you are trying to save the world, that is a very good thing!
