Driver Shot, Crashes Car Into Concrete Wall In Marshall-Shadeland
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is hospitalized in critical condition after shots were fired in the Marshall-Shadeland section of the city.
The drive-by shooting happened just before 11 p.m. as a man sat in his car at the intersection of California and Marshall avenues.
The driver of a second car pulled up alongside the victim's Avalon.
Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokesperson Sonya Toler talked to KDKA's Brenda Waters.
"The driver of the first vehicle, our victim, was struck several times, including one time in the head," she said.
After being hit, the victim's car continued to travel about 300 feet. Tire tracks are visible in the grass. The car eventually came to rest against a concrete wall after taking out a light pole.
Police believe the 23-year-old victim was alone in his car.
"We have no idea how many people were in the other vehicle," said Toler. "We have no description of the vehicle or the make or model."
Investigators have not been able to speak to the victim because of his injuries and apparently there were no witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing.
