Driver Facing DUI Charges After Hitting Boy, 6,
NEW CASTLE (KDKA) – DUI charges have been filed after an accident critically injured a 6-year-old boy last month.
According to police, the boy and an unidentified female were waiting for the school bus when a vehicle apparently jumped the curb and hit them on Jan. 21.
On Monday, police filed criminal DUI charges against the driver of the vehicle.
Samuel Abraham, 48, of Neshannock Township, tested positive for Diazepam, Cocaine, Nordaizepem and Methadone.
He is also being charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, reckless driving and driving on a sidewalk.
The 53-year-old female was taken to the hospital for treatment and was released.
