PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot three times overnight outside of a bar in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The shooting was reported around 2:15 a.m. at Liberty Avenue and Smithfield Street.
"I was just here at 1 a.m. this morning," Sierra Utegg told KDKA's Lisa Washington. "I had just left right before that. I got out of work and left,so that's craziness."
A police spokesman says the victim in the shooting was a man who was leaving one of the bars on Liberty Avenue and heading to another one, when he was shot multiple times. The man was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and was last reported in critical condition.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate the shooting.
"It's crazy," said Utegg, who lives in Castle Shannon, "but I feel like I hear about it a lot. Right here, is wild. Usually, right here, I feel like I'm okay. I can get through and be okay. It's called the Cultural District, so it's like one of the nicer areas."
Police don't have a suspect in the case, but they have interviewed several witnesses.
"Now I'm going to have to be a little more worried when I walk through here at night, but for the most part, I think I'm okay," said Utegg.
"I live in the city, I live over toward Swissvale," said Jeff Rose. "It's horrible but it doesn't scare me from coming downtown. I still think we live in an extremely safe city."
Rose added, "I think like anything else in this world, there's violence and it's horrible, but it happens."
Police say more information will be released as the investigation continues.
