Does It Really Do That? Copper Fit
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Are you one of the millions of people who suffer from pain? Whether it's your knee, elbow, ankle, wrist, or back, lots of people are looking for relief.
The makers of a product called Copper Fit compression sleeves say their copper-infused, light-weight compression garments can help you to relieve pain, increase mobility, and more.
Does it really do that?
KDKA-TV's Jennifer Antkowiak worked with Pete Randazzo to find out.
Pete is a contractor with his own remodeling business, and has been dealing with knee pain for a while. He's has never gotten professional treatment for his knee, he's not on any medication or therapy program, so he'd be able to give us a good assessment of how Copper Fit works on its own.
Copper Fit is a very thin, stretchy fabric and very light-weight. It's infused with copper.
The commercial says that its high-tech technology helps with pain and recovery and guarantees relief.
Pete tried it on, and was a little skeptical.
"it looks like a sock," he said.
He didn't feel any immediate support or relief, but the Copper Fit sleeve didn't hurt, either.
He agreed to wear Copper Fit for a while and check back with us to let us know what he thinks.
Three weeks later, Jen met with Pete again and asked how his knee was feeling.
He was happily surprised.
"I wouldn't say it's a fix-all, but it does keep the knee warm, the muscles and joints warm and loose. So, at the end of the day, it's not tight and sore," he said.
So, Copper Fit claims to ease pain and increase mobility. Does it really do that?
Pete was skeptical, but he gives it a thumbs up.
Copper Fit comes in different sizes based on measurements. The product is also made for wrists, elbows, and backs.
They are available online and in stores for around $10.
