Documents Raise Questions About Number Of Alleged Sandusky Victims
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Documents obtained by the KDKA Investigators indicate Jerry Sandusky's attorneys may have known long before the trial about more than 20 victims that were allegedly assaulted.
In court filings, Sandusky attorneys requested "all possible accusers identified as numbers 11 through 17 as well as those numbered from 18 and beyond."
Experts say that request indicates Sandusky lawyers have known for a long time there are a significant number of victims yet to be identified.
"Mr. Sandusky started in Washington County tooling that craft, and then took it elsewhere, probably through his entire life," said Joan Mills with A Child's Place at Mercy. "If we believe the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the average serial pedophile has 100 victims. Maybe the system knows about 20 or 25 of those victims. There are many more out here."
A 57-year-old man recently told state investigators he allegedly was raped by Sandusky at the Brownson House in Washington, Pa., in the late 1960s.
The Brownson House is a recreation center, which was managed by Jerry Sandusky's father for nearly 20 years. The Sandusky family lived in the Brownson House.
"There's other guys out there that have been suffering like me. Maybe this will help them," the alleged victim told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin.
Meantime, sources tell the KDKA Investigators authorities have interviewed three other men who allegedly were sexually assaulted at the Brownson House during the same time period.
