Doctor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patients To Go To Trial

FOX CHAPEL (KDKA) – A doctor accused of indecent assault and harassment against his patients will go to trial.

Dr. Raja Chakrapani was arraigned last week on charges of indecent assault and sexual harassment against his patients.

He is accused of assaulting four women.

However, charges related to two of the women were dismissed. He will face trial based on the testimony of the other two victims.

The allegations are somewhat similar. The victims were all alone with the doctor at the time the alleged inappropriate touching, rubbing, groping or kissing took place.

The new incidents allegedly occurred in Swissvale and West Mifflin. In one of the new cases, Jane Doe alleges, "He would often caress her breasts with his hands and it was not a normal breast exam."

"Most of it doesn't make any sense," said Thomassey. "You keep going to a doctor who you say he touched you inappropriately in January for example and you keep going to him every two weeks until July?"

Dr. Chakrapani remains free on bail, but he is suspended from practicing medicine and is to have no contact with the alleged victims in the case.
