Discovery Of 2 Bodies Rocks Wilkinsburg Neighborhood
WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Authorities are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home Sunday in Wilkinsburg.
Now, family and community members are mourning and looking for answers.
It was a busy and emotional night at Allegheny County Police headquarters in Point Breeze as family members showed up looking for answers into the deaths.
"It's like a numbing feeling," said Tammy Rankin, a neighbor.
She says that's the only way to describe the feelings she experienced after coming home from church Sunday and learning two people were discovered dead in the townhouse next to hers in the 500-block of Princeton Boulevard.
"It was kind of creepy," said Rankin. "I mean, I don't want to move cause I like this street; and I'm feeling like, well is that an isolated incident or is it random? What is it?"
The bodies of 23-year-old Michael Black and 24-year-old Da'Shawna Gibson were reportedly discovered in a second-floor bedroom.
The grim discovery has Rankin thinking about what she did and didn't hear last night.
"I didn't hear them kick that door in, none of that," said Rankin. "The only thing I heard was those four shots. Could I have done anything? Was that fireworks or was that it? I mean, it makes me feel kinda like helpless."
