Despres, McDonald Named to AHL All-Star Game
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Wilkes-Barre defenseman Simon Despres and forward Colin McDonald were selected to the American Hockey League All-Star Game Wednesday.
Despres was the Pittsburgh Penguins' first-round draft choice in 2009 and is in his first year of professional hockey. In 27 AHL games, Despres has recorded three goals and four assists. He's also logged 13 NHL games with a goal and three assists.
McDonald leads the Baby Pens in scoring with 28 points — eight goals and a team-high 20 assists. It's his second straight AHL All-Star Game selection.
