Despite Coaching Change, PSU Lands Top Local Recruiting Class
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - There was much uncertainty surrounding the Penn State program just one month ago, but today, new head coach James Franklin brought in Pennsylvania's top recruiting class.
According to Rivals, Penn State brought in the nation's 23rd best recruiting class, highlighted by top recruits
Making Penn State's haul even more impressive is that they're still dealing with scholarship limitations and a bowl ban.
Altoona Mirror Penn State Beat Writer Cory Giger joined Starkey and Mueller to weigh in with his thoughts on the recruiting class Penn State brought in.
"Penn State has a very good, not great class, but a very good class. They'll finish right around 20th in the country."
Giger also discusses how impressive it is that Penn State can put together this kind of recruiting class given the sanctions they're still dealing with.
"With all the sanctions that they still got going on and the bowl ban and everything, to have a class that;'s 20th in the country and the second best in the Big 10, really speaks volumes to what Bill O'Brien and his staff did, and then also to what James Franklin and his staff were able to come in and do, basically in a matter of three weeks."
