EXPORT, Pa. (KDKA) — A man in Export, Westmoreland County, was shot and killed following a dispute over a parking spot, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police said the shooting happened on Tuesday along Madison Avenue just after 2 p.m. Officials said 65-year-old Daniel Chicka was killed in the shooting. A neighbor, 32-year-old Matt Miller, was taken away in handcuffs.

Another neighbor told KDKA-TV that the shooting happened in the street. Police said the parking spot was the center of an ongoing dispute.

Chicka's brothers said he was visiting his girlfriend when he was shot and killed. A neighbor said Miller recently moved in and was territorial about the parking spot.

"It's a shame a guy got killed for nothing," neighbor Greg Rager said. "Just stupid."

Chicka's brothers said people called him "Slim" and he was a retired coal miner from Avonmore. He loved motorcycles and remote-controlled airplanes.

Sources told KDKA-TV that five shots were fired and Miller is claiming self-defense. According to court records, no charges have been filed in connection with the case as of Tuesday night.

Police are working on getting search warrants on residences and vehicles.
