Daren Miller Helping Others Swim Ocean Channels
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - While at DiSalvo's Station Thursday night KDKA's Robert Mangino talked with Dormont native Daren Miller who's goal is to help others swim ocean channels.
Miller says he wants to help raise awareness about the dangers of channel swimming, since he just lost one of his friends to a shark attack in Auckland, New Zealand.
He's now created a website to help raise awareness, and help raise money for the forever fund at Children's Hospital. The fund helps families who struggle to afford the costs associated with infant cardiothoracic surgery.
