Dana Holgorsen Talks About His Sophomore Season As WVU Head Coach
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - West Virginia Mountaineers head football coach, Dana Holgorsen, joined Gregg Giannotti, Paul Alexander, and Paul Zeise on the 93.7 The Fan Spring Football Preview Special.
The Mountaineers put up 70 points in the Orange Bowl against Clemson, but Dana says to not get used to that because it is impossible to put up that many points on a regular basis.
The Mountaineers have moved conferences from the Big East to the Big 12. For a while, the Mountaineers looked to be in the worst position of the teams in the Big East, but now are in a great position. Coach Holgorsen did not get caught up in the struggle to shift conferences because his concerns were with coaching. He let the administrators deal with non-football occurrences.
Keith Patterson is now the Co-Defensive Coordinator at WVU and will institute a new 3-4 defensive system that is predicated on forcing turnovers. Dana is excited to see how the defense will react to the new system and hopefully create more short fields for their high-powered offense.
