DA Working To Shut Down Oakland Pizza Shop

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – There are new details on the raid at an Oakland pizza parlor.

Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala wants to shut down the business that sits near the University of Pittsburgh.

"What we are looking for is to close them and take them out of business," said Zappala.

The owner of Larry and Carol's Pizza shop was apparently doing more than rolling "dough." Police say he was making extra "dough" by dealing drugs.

The DA's Office has had its eye on 35-year-old Fadi Aboud and his Oakland business for months.

"We made several controlled buys over a period of February to yesterday when Aboud was arrested in a controlled buy, two pounds of marijuana and half a kilo of cocaine," Zappala said.

Also inside the shop on Semple Street, $6,000 in cash and dozens of pills.

Aboud admits he has been selling cocaine for the past two years and now sees the error of his ways by calling himself an idiot several times when he was arrested.

"Because the owners are involved in drug activity in a place of business, detectives have been told to look at this as a possible drug nuisance," Zappala says.

And Zappala says documents are already being drawn up to do just that.

Aboud remains in the Allegheny County Jail, unable to post $200,000 bond.
