Crosby Out Against Blue Jackets With Lower-Body Injury
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins are mired in a five-game winless streak. Now, they will be without their captain for tonight's game against Columbus.
Sidney Crosby suffered a "lower-body" injury against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
According to the Penguins, head coach Mike Sullivan announced Crosby will not play tonight against the Blue Jackets.
Crosby missed Sunday's practice and is considered to be day-to-day. The matchup with Columbus will be the Penguins' final game before their Christmas break.
They will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Minnesota. The hope is that Crosby will have recovered with a few days off.
Sullivan on Crosby: "I don't believe it is a long term thing. The hope with the break coming up is that he will have time to recover."
