Crosby On Return From Lower Body Injury: 'It's Day-To-Day'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - After skipping the All-Star Game to receive an injection for an undisclosed injury on Jan. 10, Sidney Crosby met with the media following Tuesday's practice and gave an idea of the timeline for his return.

Crosby talked about being forced to miss tonight's game under an NHL rule that prohibits players who skipped the All-Star Game from playing in their team's first game back.

"All things considered, I probably wouldn't have played tonight anyway," Crosby said.

Crosby skated before, during and after the morning skate Tuesday as the Penguins prepared to face Winnipeg.

"It's difficult. There is a reason why it's there," Crosby said of the rule prohibiting him from playing tonight. "Obviously, they don't want guys skipping out on the All-Star Game and going to Florida for four days while others commit their time to do it. I understand the thought process behind it, but my case isn't the case there."

Crosby said the undisclosed injury affected him in every way and he could return against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

"We'll just see how I feel tomorrow," Crosby said. "It's just one of those things, it's day-to-day."
