Crosby 'Anxious' To Play Tonight
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It's a day many Penguins fans have been anxiously waiting for.
Sidney Crosby will make his return to the Penguins' lineup tonight when they host the New York Islanders at CONSOL Energy Center.
Crosby suffered a concussion after taking hits in the Winter Classic on Jan. 1, by David Steckel and on Jan. 5 by Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman.
Now, 320 days later, Crosby will suit up for a National Hockey League game.
At the team's morning skate, Crosby was on the top power play unit and was skating at full speed.
After the skate, he admitted that he's a little anxious to get back into the lineup.
"You don't always get this anxious for games. This is one I can definitely say I'm pretty anxious and excited for. But, I don't think anything ever matches the first one," Crosby said.
"Just happy. It's still a process of getting back and getting used to things. It's not going to get any easier. It's going to be an adjustment, but having that opportunity is something I've waited a long time for. So, just really excited and just really looking forward to getting going and getting into that routine."
