Divers Find Missing Woman's Body In Scott Twp. Lake
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - State police say emergency divers have found the body of a New Castle woman who went missing while out fishing with her husband on Tuesday evening in Lawrence County.
According to police, 26-year-old Nancy List was fishing in a private pond off of Countyline Road in Scott Township when their small aluminum boat capsized.
She attempted to swim to shore while holding onto the boat, authorities said.
Her husband saw her go underwater, but she never resurfaced.
Police, firefighters, a helicopter and emergency divers were out late into the night, but the search was called off around 12:30 a.m. because of poor visibility.
Search crews were back on the scene Wednesday at 7 a.m.
Around 2:25 p.m., state police say divers found List's body in the lake.
The investigation continues.
