Crews Rescue Woman From Truck In Forward Twp. Tree
FORWARD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A woman had to be rescued after her pickup truck crashed, rolled down an embankment and became stuck in a tree Monday morning.
Erin Dawn Bowser, 33, lost control of her pickup truck on the Buehl Bridge on Route 68 in Forward Township.
The truck went over the guardrail and tumbled down a hillside, coming to rest in a tree about 15 feet above Connoquenessing Creek.
A witness told police that Bowser was passing drivers at a high-rate of speed. Then, the truck fish-tailed out of control, hit a vehicle, crashed into the guardrail and rolled down the embankment toward the creek.
After stabilizing the truck, firefighters used ropes attached to a tower truck to lift her back to the highway.
Bowser suffered bumps and bruises, but was alert for the duration of the rescue.
She will face charges of driving too fast for road conditions for allegedly endangering herself and other drivers on the highway.
