Crews Battle Florist Shop Fire In Beaver County
BADEN (KDKA) -- A fire caused major damage to one of the oldest buildings in Baden, Beaver County.
Firefighters were called around 1 p.m. Tuesday to the building in the 500-block of State Street.
It houses Beaver Valley Floral along with other businesses and residences.
A number of people were inside at the time.
Some workers saw smoke and hoped to put out the fire themselves.
"Went up to the third floor, and by that time somebody from the little shop here had run across the road and said, 'There's flames coming out of the roof, get out of the building,'" said Gaylin Katterson, who works in the building.
The worker tells KDKA the building was built in the late 1800s.
No injuries were reported.
